Every electronic system in your house needs to be well maintained and prevented from dust. Computers are also an integral part of every household that needs to be kept clean and tidy. Many don’t even know what dust does to their PC. Proper maintenance of your computer will improve the efficiency and performance.

Dust is something which can cause great damage to your PC. It slows down your computer and it could be extremely frustrating. It could suddenly stop working and the system might just hang. It may also increase the risk of crashes which is certainly not good.

Dust particles are like aliens to the electric components of your PC. It can cause over heating of the system and ultimately some of the electrical components may burn. When there is excessive dust lying on your computer, it is better to clean before it stops working. The system might get rust due to the over heating and too much of dust.

When you switch on your PC, the fan immediately starts working. It helps to keep the system cool but as a result draw in thousands of dust particles. Dust is one of the main culprits of PC failure. It can affect the performance of the computer. When a computer engineer opens the system, dust is always the main issue.

Protecting your computer from dust will straight away increase the speed and enhance the performance. You may want to spend some money on covers which will prevent your computer from major damage or slow downs. When your computer starts humming, it is an indication of dust bunnies that are accumulated in the hard drive. It is the right time to open up and clean your PC for the smooth functioning.

You can search for some PC cleaning guides that have step by step instructions. First thing is to prepare the computer for cleaning. You must back up all your data and better be in a safe position. You must then disconnect the peripherals like the power cord, keyboard, mouse, monitor etc.

You must always take the system to a well-lit place and clean. Dust particles are very small and might not be visible inside the house. You may use a can of compressed air with a straw attached to the nozzle. It will easily blow off the dust and chemical from your PC without affecting any of the wires.

Fans of the computer should not be cleaned with compressed air because it may cause harm. Fans are made of plastic and can be cleaned with damp cloth. Dust particles, pet hair, smoke etc can slow down the fan and might overheat the system. After cleaning the entire system, fix every component carefully.

You will observe an immediate change in the speed and performance of your PC. Dust is something which gets accumulated in the keyboards and mouse balls. You should clean them with a dry towel or a paint brush to blow away all the dust particles. Wires and plug points should also be cleaned to avoid any problems of over heating.

You may use isopropyl rubbing alcohol dampened cloth to clean the surface of the keyboard. Keep your PC dust free and enjoy the good speed and performance.
